La anatomía vegetal es una disciplina que incluye el estudio comparativo y del desarrollo de células, tejidos y órganos vegetales. 
La tendencia actual de nuestras líneas de investigación es orientar los trabajos anatómicos hacia la sistemática, filogenia, fisiología y otros aspectos funcionales de la especie en estudio. 
Para desarrollar las tareas contamos con equipos de microscopía de última generación. 

Líneas de investigación actuales

  • Anatomía vegetativa y reproductiva de especies de interés agronómico: maní, algodón, ananá, soja, aguaí, arándano, frutilla, citrus, cannabis.
  • Estudios anatómicos en estructuras reproductivas en holoparásitas y en especies selectas de las familias Anacardiáceas, Malváceas, Nymphaeaceas, Rubiáceas, Cactáceas, Sapindáceas, Loranthaceas, Fabáceas, Ericaceas y Malpighiaceae.
  • Filogenia y evolución de los caracteres florales y embriológicos en géneros sudamericanos de la subfamilia Grewioideae (Malvaceae).
  • Análisis de estructura foliar desde el punto de vista ecológico.
  • Estudios anatómicos y ontogenéticos de plantas cultivadas in vitro: eucaliptus, maní, tomate, etc.
